Do you ever feel bad about how far you are from achieving your goals?
I wanna let you in on three truths that help me stand strong when anxiety creeps in…
…when I’m just so tired of being here and not yet “there.”
Firstly, PERSISTENCY is more important than consistency.
“Be consistent.” “Consistency is key.” This is the advice we receive at every corner.
But what happens when you’re dealing with chronic health issues, working two jobs, and trying to take care of your family…all while building a business that’s not yet paying the bills?
Or when life sends you hurricanes…maybe literal hurricanes, like in my case…and for a long time, you’re just trying to survive?
Being consistent is like a luxury in these times.
But y’know what? Being persistent – holding on to your dream and moving forward ever so slowly and steadily – will always be your key to one day living the life you once dreamed of.
Secondly, plans take three times longer than you expect.
This is more like a rule of thumb to help you manage your expectations.
If you think it will take you 30 minutes to record a video, plan for it to take you 90 minutes. If you think you will launch your first course in 1 month, plan for it to take you 3 months.
This might make you scared that your goals are three times further away than you hope, and you might be tempted to beat this average…
But I encourage you to adopt this rule of thumb and give yourself space to grow at a sustainable pace.
Thirdly, you’re right where you’re supposed to be.
Think about the galaxy. Zone in from the planets and stars to the earth, the continents, the countries, your city…all the way to where you’re reading this.
You’re part of a bigger story than you could ever imagine!
And for as long as your heart beats, your life is unfolding perfectly in line with the grand scheme of a God who LOVES His people. That’s all that really matters. He’s got you, and His plans for you are GOOD.
So if you're feeling discouraged because your business isn't growing as quickly as you'd hoped, I want you to know that you're not alone. You're NOT failing.
You're simply on your own unique journey, and this journey takes time.
Remember, every small step you take, every lesson you learn, and every obstacle you overcome is bringing you closer to your goals. Trust the process. Trust yourself. And keep moving forward, one step at a time.
P.S. You’ve gotta spill the tea…what kind of course do you want to create? AND/OR what inspired you to start your business? *milk duds in hand…waiting excitedly in my IG DMs @coachkemzi for your reply!*
