As a kid, I wrote my dreams in journals…LOTS of ‘em!
Many shelves later, I still do.
(Anyone else have a notebook addiction?)
For years, I’ve wanted to host my own podcast but it never felt like the right time… until now.
I had all kinds of thoughts like: “I don’t know how to do this,” “Will anyone even listen to it?,” “Does the world need yet another podcast?”
And all these doubts really came down to one pesky little thing: fear.
But recently, I was asked WHY I want to start a podcast, and I decided to journal about it (per usual 😂).
I wrote:
I want to start a podcast because I want dreamers to have a safe space to do what we do best—dream!
I want to create something that dives deep into identity work—the inner growth that fuels outer growth.
And I want to fill a gap where purpose and identity are tied to Faith in Christ…without it being “just another” Christianity podcast.
I realized I had all these reasons, but most of all, I just know this is my thing.
(Here’s an embarrassing secret: I can talk to an imaginary audience for hourssss. Seriously. You’ll catch me having full-on “talks” with absolutely no one.)
Yes, I look crazy, but I don’t apologize for it. 🤪
I see myself in front of people, answering their questions and imparting wisdom that makes them feel seen, heard, and empowered. This makes podcasting feel like the perfect fit for me.
So…I’m finally doing it!
I propped up my mic, laid down some blankets, and hit record.
It was SCARY, I needed tons of encouragement from loved ones, and it didn’t feel perfect AT ALL, but I did it anyway.
And you can too!
As you chase your dreams, you’ll feel tempted to make it perfect, and you might beat yourself up when you fail to, but it doesn’t have to be this way.
As I said in my podcast trailer, “You don’t have to be perfect to chase your dreams, love. You just have to be you.”
Here's to being you!
